This recording is a compilation of 3 Dhikr sessions of Sufi chanting in Aleppo, Syria, by Sheikh Subhi Al-Hariri, who was born in Aleppo in 1884 and died in 1968. This recording was recovered from an old roll which included recordings from 1950-1965.
In 2020, I was asked by my friend, who is Al-Hariri’s grandson, to clean up and restore the audio as best as I could, using in-the-box tools like iZotope RX7, so that he could have a nice record of his grandfather. I’ve cleaned up the pops and clicks, EQ’ed some of the frequencies, and limited the audio to prevent any clipping.
